This was the fifth time Laurence Lai Gallery had sponsored the “Annual Auction Dinner” of the Ivey Business School in Hong Kong.   However, it was the very first time Laurence actually joined their dinner party together.  Laurence felt really excited about the event.  At the beginning of the auction, the auction caller showed the first piece of art photographed by Laurence.  It was “The Victoria Harbour Aerial Photo”; its floor price is HK$5,000 and each bid up is HK$1,000.  After six bids, the final auction price for that particular piece of art was dealt at HK$11,000. The second piece of photo to be auctioned was one of Laurence's favourite-- “The Last Date of Kai Tak Airport Before Final Closing” in black and white.  The same piece of photo had been auctioned at the same event four years ago.  The previous final bid price was HK$19,200.  Before the dinner party, many participants had sincerely demonstrated their interests as they couldn't win it four years ago.  All of them swore they should be able to win the bid this time.  When the auction event holder called for a floor price of HK$5,000; and same rules as before each bid up is HK$1,000, the atmosphere was instantly heated up.  The whole auction process was such a thrill!  Eventually, the final auction price for the second piece of photo was HK$21,000.  All proceeds from the auction would be donated to the education funds for the Ivey Business School in Hong Kong.

今年已是第五年贊助Ivey Business School Annual Dinner之拍賣，但出席他們的Annual Dinner還是第一次，我只可用非常興奮來形容我的心情! 拍賣的時侯到了！拍賣官展示我第一幅捐出的作品，維港上空，底價是故$5,000,每口叫價為$1,000，經過了6次叫價，終於以高出底價一倍多，以HK$11,000成交。

而第二幅捐出的作品，是我最心愛之一的啟德機場黑白飛機相！這幅作品於四年前在Ivey拍賣過一次，以$19,200成交！在未拍賣之前已有好幾位凖買家前來對我說非常欣賞我這幅作品，而四年前未能投得，今年一定要投到手裏！

拍賣官出場了，底價仍是故$5000，每口叫價為$1,000；你一口價，我一口價，競投氣氛非常熱烈，整個過程超過十五分鐘，最後以高出底價四倍，以港幣21,000元成交。

所有拍賣所得之款項，將會捐助與Ivey Business School作為教育基金用途。
