The organizer‘s note 

是次之展覽可以進行,一切都是一個「緣」字開始
07年夏季的一個黃昏,天氣特別的晴朗!霎時衝動!好想去影相
馬上回家取相機到山頂拍攝!由於是沒有計劃的拍攝,
時間太趕,而器材準備不充足!忘記了帶「失打繩」
山頂盧吉道是很多遊客必到之地,亦是攝影發燒友最愛拍攝維港夜景之熱門地點
因此,站在我旁邊亦有好幾個發燒友很投入地拍攝!

It is by chance to organize this exhibition. 
On a sunny day in summer 2007 which was a good day for taking photos. 
I ran back to my home immediately to get my camera ready and went to the peak.  
As I did not plan to take photos on that day,
so I forgot to bring with the shutter string in the hurry. 

Lugard road at the Peak is a famous place for tourists
and it is also a common place for all photographers.
I was  surrounded by a crowd of photographers.

由於是沒有帶「失打繩」的關係,
硬著頭皮地向左邊的影友問「可否借用一下你的失打繩?」
對方很大方地用國語回答我說「可以呀」
這時我才知道他是同胞,再細傾之下,
原來他是一名專業攝影師,由北京來香港取景,

As I forgot to bring the shutter string with me,
I have no choice but to borrow one from others. 
A man who stood at my left hand side,
generously spoke to me in Mandarin that he could lend me the string. 
At that moment I realized that he was a
professional photographer from Beijing.

他說今日中午路經九龍天星碼頭時,
見到有一間售賣香港相片的鋪頭名叫「laurence lai gallery」,
他還說,他拍得很專業!之前在香港沒有聽過他的名字?
你是本地人,問我認不認識他!
這時,我真的不知道應該給他一個什麼反應和答案!
當然, 最後我亦大方地告訴他這個就是小弟
就是這樣我和劉老師就結下了不解之緣了

He then told me that he came across a shop called ‘Laurence Lai Gallery’
at the Star Ferry and claimed that the photos were professionally taken. 
Then he asked me if I knew the guy Laurence since I was local. 
At that moment, I did not know how to respond him but at last I told him that I was. 
This was the story how we met.      

去年本人上北京拍攝”奧運特輯”,劉老師亦極盡地主之誼,
提供了很多方便及拍攝建議,在此亦要向他說一聲”謝謝!”
是次展貿是劉老師年多年來遊歷大江南北之精選作品,現提名”光與影”,望各界好友前來分享!

I would like to thank master Liu who gave me a big hand last year
when I went to take photos of The Olympics Games in Beijing. 
This event includes many years of works by master Liu
and the collection was named as ‘The Light and Shadow’.
